Geobrugg's TECCO system
- One of the strongest mesh systems available today.
- The slope is covered by a high capacity steel wire mesh net via previously launched or drilled nail anchors and plates.
Macaferri's Mac.RO system
- Including rockfall drapery meshes, gabion and Mattress structure unit.
- The rock fall protection system also uses drilled soil nail anchors.
These methods reduce the potential for rock fall to occur.
Design Considerations:
Anchorage solutions (such as grouted steel ground anchors, rock bolts, rock mesh etc) and anchors for dynamic rock fall barriers should be designed to the following codes of practice:
Eurocode 7 – Geotechnical Design
And the whole protection structures shall have a design life of at least 15 years.
Components of rockfall protection TECCO barrier:
Mesh
Spiral rope net
Ring net
- The nets which are made from robust and high-tensile steel wire (>256 ksi).
- The nets absorb energy, thereby reducing stress on the anchors.
- Special corrosion protection
Baseplate
- The steel bearing plates are adapted to the local ground conditions.
- Optimal load transfer
Posts
- The steel posts are fastened to the baseplate with a hinge pin.
Running wheel
- Its function is similar to rope pulleys.
U-brake
- The U-brake is composed of a flat steel bar, bent around a mandrel.
Rope anchorage
- Spiral rope anchors or self-drilling anchors/hollow grouting anchors.
